Michael Boucher Landscape Architecture is a professional landscape design firm located in southern Maine. MBLA, founded in 1994, is engaged in ongoing collaborations with many acclaimed architecture firms. The office is currently involved in a variety of projects nationally and internationally, connecting us to many landscape typologies, cultural viewpoints and methods of building. This experience benefits our clients and projects in providing a sense of objectivity that we fold into each new undertaking.
We offer a full scope of landscape architecture services tailored to assist our clients in developing clear visions for their properties. Our designs explore the interplay between buildings, site structures and nature, with a focus on space-making and movement through the landscape. We take clues from nature – the land, vegetation and climate – but do not attempt to replicate nature's patterns. Instead, we merge architectural intentions and site dynamics as we help site buildings and shape the land around them.
We strive to create elegant and lasting landscapes that are logical to build, inherently low-maintenance, and will endure in the collective memory of those who experience them. We advocate the use of native and indigenous plants, striving for a beautiful, practical and self-sustaining landscape. We are service-minded and comfortable handling projects of many types and sizes. We love what we do, and appreciate new opportunities to collaborate with others who share our outlook and enthusiasm.
